The Publications Committee is currently seeking two new volunteer members.
The Publications Committee works closely with the ACNM national office staff to plan and develop content for professional resources and publications, such as ACNM handbooks including Vacuum Assisted Birth in Midwifery Practice, The Midwife as Surgical First Assistant, An Administrative Manual for Midwifery Practices, Home Birth Practice Manual, and many others. This committee is not responsible for developing ACNM clinical bulletins or position statements and emphasizes project development rather than direct content creation.
The committee consists of 7-10 qualified volunteer members whose responsibilities are to identify content gaps or topics worthy of ACNM publication, evaluate and prioritize proposals, oversee the development and production of publications, and maintain an annual publishing schedule and revision cycle. Members can anticipate participating in regular committee meetings (remotely) approximately every 6 weeks towards committee efforts.
Qualifications of committee members include:
(1) current membership in ACNM
(2) interest in developing resources to support excellence in the midwifery profession
(3) previous publications, educational content development, or project management experience (preferred but not required)
(4) ability to contribute to monthly teleconferences and discussion with committee members and appropriate liaisons
